A LAST minute stand in has had to be found for Charmouth fair on Sunday after the Sir Marmaduke Rawden’s Regiment of Foote had to pull out following the death of their pike commander.
Organisers have found a replacement in Jonathan Marshall of Experience Falconry, who was the star attraction a few years ago doing his falconry on horseback.
The fair begins with a parade down through the village at 1.30pm before the fair opens at 2pm.
The attractions include Jules the Stilt Walker, Wyld Morris, a family fun dog show, Karizma Majorettes, the local fire engine and crew, Honiton Gym Club and a Mini car club display.
There will be all the usual stalls, including a tombola, smash the crockery, hooplah, football and skittles. The band Brass Tacks will be entertaining beside the tea pavilion.
In the evening there is a Party in the Park with live band Freddie and the Framed and a barbecue and bar and fireworks.
Entrance is £1.50 for adults, children free.
Gates open at 7pm.
