HEALTHY eating lessons have been digested by pupils during a week dedicated to their wellbeing.
Youngsters from Chickerell Primary School enjoyed a special programme of lessons teaching them how to stay fit and healthy.
They've also learned how to improve their emotional wellbeing through Personal Social Health Education (PSHE) classes.
Healthy school leader Lorraine Llewellyn said: "We've all had such a good time and everyone has been looking very rosy-cheeked as a result.
"We're really focusing on teaching children that it's important to maintain a balance and that they need to try and make a healthy choice.
"If they know what's good for them and what's less healthy then they can make a decision."
Other activities organised by the school during the week included a bike relay challenge, and a strawberry tea afternoon for parents and local residents.
Teachers and pupils recently received a distinction at the South of England Teaching Awards for being a first class sustainable school.
The school was singled out for its teaching of the Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) programme.
