THE case of Oscar Pistorius was one that had the whole nation watching.

And now it has been said that the Paralympic star is set to be released on probation, after serving just 10 months or his five year sentence in jail for shooting dead his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

In the trial that had the nation silently watching as the double amputee told the court he shot and killed Ms Steenkamp through a locked bathroom door at his home, believing she was an intruder.

Ms Steenkamp's parents have said that the time he has served is 'not enough for taking a life'.

A state appeal against his acquittal on murder charges is due in November.

But will the star ever be able to return to his passion of athletics or will he disappear into the background?

He became one of South Africa's best-known sports stars, and was the first amputee to compete against able-bodied athletes at the 2012 London Olympics.

And I know I am not alone as a person who used to love watching him achieving everything he did, but I feel that he will never be accepted as the man he was before.
