THE public have been left shocked after a 14-year-old boy who stabbed his teacher in Bradford was sentenced this week.

The incident happened at Dixons Academy, where Vincent Uzomah, a supply teacher who had only been working at the academy for a month, was stabbed by a boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

After the incident the boy posted to social media boasting about the incident, which quickly received 69 likes.

Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC said: "It’s an appalling reflection on a small microcosm of our society that within minutes or hours after posting, 69 people liked. How sick."

The judge sentenced the 14-year-old to an 11 year extended sentence.

It was clear on social media sites that the public were appalled and utterly shocked at the behaviour of the young boy.

Comments were made showing the disgrace the public shared; many included the safety within public places, and how racism is still such a common occurrence.

Speaking outside court, Mr Uzomah said: "As a Christian, I have forgiven this boy who has inflicted this trauma and pain on to me and my family."

This statement caused the public to be taken aback, and thousands of comments have been made, many mentioned they thought the sentence was too short for the actions taken by the school boy.

Other comments included the bravery and forgiveness of the teacher, who has become an inspiration to many.
