THIS year's Bake Off final was a record breaking hit making it the most watched TV show of the year.

It replaced ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent and in turn pushed the iconic Eastenders live ‘Who killed Lucy?’ episode in to third.

Nadiya, a 30 year-old-mum of three from Leeds claimed the prestigious glass cake stand as the Bake Off’s sixth winner.

She went in to the final as the favourite to win, and proved herself worthy after 30 challenges and ten weeks of gruelling baking.

Nadiya was made star baker three times, and even though she struggled with the technical challenges in the first few weeks she persevered and rose to the challenge.

The finalists were Nadiya Hussain, Ian Cummings and Tamal Ray and although one of the strongest bakers up until the final, Ian over baked his chances by forgetting to add sugar into his iced buns and getting dimensions wrong in his carrot and orange showstopper cake.

All three finalists were extremely strong bakers so this year was a very close call.

It has had everyone talking - in the workplace, schools, social media - wherever you are you have been talking about the Bake Off series, which just proves the goal for The Great British Bake Off, to bring people together through the common theme of cake.
