TURKISH forces have shot down a Russian Military warplane on the Syrian border.

The Su-24 was hit by missiles fired by Turkish F-16 planes, while it was travelling over Syrian territory. Russian President Vladimir Putin described the attack as “a stab in the back” that was committed by “accomplices of terrorists”.

The crew managed to be ejected before the plane crashed however it has been circulated by Syrian rebel groups that at least one was dead.

With all the attacks going on at the moment and tensions running high between countries as the migrants continue to flee the danger, and plots unfold of terrorism and air-strikes, this really is ‘fuelling the fire’ as they say. This attack has already been retaliated and is just another excuse for more fighting. Both oppositions take different approaches and with neither side looking to back down it seems that this fight is and will be an ongoing one. Peace talks and compromises are not looking likely so it seems that a way of solving the problems that won’t harm civilians won’t take place any time in the near future. This fact could possibly be a contributing factor to a major war or conflict that will effect future generations and damage valuable bonds which have been built up between countries by years of friendship.
