A FUN two day festival came to Dorset last week, letting students raise money for charitable causes.

The ACE Festival, at Queen Elizabeth’s School in Wimborne, was a two-day event of sport, music and fundraising on Thursday, June 30 and Friday, July 1.

The festival is a sports day and charity event, where the students raise money for local and national charities by running stalls, games and competitions.

Students also competed in a range of sports events, from water polo to badminton and track events.

The festival also featured Queen Elizabeth’s School’s very own version of TV show The Cube – ‘The Qube’.

This took the form of a series of activities where students in different houses compete for points and prizes.

The two days were split into different ‘ACES’ where different types of sports were played.

Each year group got the chance to walk around the stalls and take part in different activities.

Live music was provided by BTEC Music students and other talented pupils.

The festival was a great chance for young people to contribute to the local community and raise lots of money for good causes, all while having fun.

The teachers participated too, by either helping to run stalls, events and competitions, or even volunteering to be drenched with wet sponges all in the name of charity.
