THE young women involved in Girls Against – a group campaigning for awareness to be raised over young girls and women being inappropriately touched or groped at gigs and concerts – have received a positive response from popular bands and artists like Wolf Alice, Peace and Slaves.

Girls Against was formed when 17-year-old Hannah Camilleri was groped at a concert in Glasgow.

The band in question was notified via Twitter and then spoke out against this sort of sexual assault, expressing its concern and support for victims.

After that, girls with similar stories formed Girls Against, campaigning and gaining support for these issues.

Local girl Julia Drewnowicz, 16, from Chickerell was at a concert in December when a man put his hand up her skirt.

This inspired her to become a member of Girls Against and help to campaign in the Dorset area against the sexual harassment and attacks that hundreds of girls have faced.
