Jobs here in Weymouth are thin on the ground and of little variety.

Most options for youth are either care jobs, seasonal or shop work. This fits only some.

The primary sources of employment for young people in the area are attractions.

As Weymouth is largely a holiday destination above anything else, it isn’t a surprise that there are so few jobs here.

If people aren’t interested in the seasonal employment in this town, there is little else to be offered job-wise.

As for the older people of Weymouth, many of them are still in work, therefore taking up jobs that younger people could otherwise take on.

This results in most available positions being voluntary or with low wages. In general our country’s average retirement age is going up.

This is due to developing healthcare as well as encouragement from the Government to raise the rate six months every year.

This, for younger people, will soon become a problem. As we study for jobs that may not have even been invented yet, elderly people continue to work, leaving us jostling for employment.

We may be forced into moving away from these places to find low-quality city jobs
