I think that many students starting school suffer from stress and I think we need to talk about the problems they face.

Here are three changes that I feel should be made. I believe junior school teachers should make sure that you are happy and answer more of your questions about your new school.

I think this is reassuring. It is a good chance to share your worries or concerns with your teacher and not in front of the whole class.

I also think that teachers should talk about the happier things, like meeting new friends, having different teachers and new lessons.

I think that this would give pupils a better start in school and put less pressure on them.

The second change I would like to see is that we should learn more about life skills such as taxes, democracy and jobs for the future. Schools should help students prepare for their working lives.

I also think it would be useful for students to learn more about British law. By this, I mean how laws are made, how to follow them and who decides them. This might be needed in later life.

The third change I would like to see is to be taught more about bullying and online safety. I know that this is mentioned in schools all over the country but I think that is very important to know.

I think that in lessons teachers should make it more engaging - they could do some projects to get the students to feel what the victim of the bully is feeling and to see what the students would do if they saw this happening or if it was happening to them.

I think that if more schools did this there would be fewer students of this generation suffering from stress.
