We are about to advance the clocks by one hour for British summer time. In my opinion it should be two, in line with the French, or to be more precise – Continental time.
Why do I believe this? Because two hours’ longer daylight would save a significant amount of fuel and hard-earned money and more leisure time in the evening.
Winston Churchill knew the value of this but present politicians, in my opinion, have neither the brains nor gumption to realise this or do not care.
Some argue it is the Scots who do not want the clocks advanced and they are holding it up.
If that is so, I hope they vote yes in the forthcoming referendum on independence and forfeit their objection.
