I recently had to attend DCH at 10.30 for a small surgical procedure.
I arrived at 9.50, thinking at this time of day parking would not be too bad, being outside of normal visiting times. Wrong.
I joined a convoy of cars looking for spaces and by 10.25 I was panicking – no parking or nearby public car parks.
Luckily I spotted a young couple who looked like they might be leaving, so I asked if I could have their space and followed them.
I do not live on a bus route to Dorchester hospital but for my follow-up visit I will park my car en route and catch the bus.
I recently had to visit the County Court at Dorchester.
I was informed that I could park my car at the park and ride by Tesco for £1.
The bus runs about every 10 to 15 minutes picks you up and takes you to the court.
I did this over three days and each trip there and back only one to four people were on the bus.
On Wednesday it stopped just before the traffic lights at Build Rite to drop off for the market.
Why can this bus not turn left at the traffic lights, right at the next traffic lights and drop off outside the hospital, then turn the next right to the Top o’ Town roundabout to the county offices?
This would ease the parking at the hospital and put people on the buses that are running empty most of the day.
I would like to know why it is easier to go to the county court than to the county hospital.
