Weymouth and Portland Borough Council spend £4million on repairs to the harbour berthing facility only to discover that it will be 16 metres short to accommodate Condor’s proposed new generation ferry.
During discussions prior to the council going ahead with with the refurbishments to berth three could the question not have been asked of Condor: ‘Do you have any intentions to change, type, size, operation of your fleet?’
As a major contributor to the local economy one would have assumed that W&PBC could and should be a little ‘closer’ to Condor.
