Can anyone explain why we have temporary trailers with electronic signs dotted around the town.

These signs, that I am guessing are not free and probably funded by the tax payer, tell us that there is a traffic congestion at various points in the town, and to expect delays.

So they are telling us what we already know.

Would it not be better to erect permanent signs that say ‘due to incompetent council, the local traffic system doesn't work, so good luck with your journey’?
