So, the new improved Weymouth Pavilion is now celebrating a year of operation.
In fact from their website, I read the words: “Weymouth Pavilion CIC (Community Interest Company) is celebrating it’s First Birthday. Yes, one whole year has passed since Weymouth Pavilion was saved from closure and demolition...and yes, they are right to do so.”
So many people have supported them and have enjoyed an evening out at the theatre.
I wonder how many of them have been those councillors that were ready to sign the death sentence and would have happily smiled as brick by brick that dowdy looking building crumbled to the ground to make way for a car park?
Not for one minute do I envisage ‘sold out’ signs for every performance, nor do I expect the program of events/shows to appeal to everyone.
However, you can’t knock Phil Say and his team for their combined efforts to ensure that Weymouth continues to provide an entertainment venue for residents and visitors alike.
I too wish them well.
