Your article ‘Community Fund’s £1m Helping Hand’ (October 7) on the face of it sounds positive, but not for all.
If one looks at the Community Foundation’s website you will find that over the years out of eight areas in Dorset there is only one that has received no grants at all, while others have received tens of thousands of pounds, or even hundreds of thousands of pounds. The area to receive nothing is Weymouth and Portland.
It would be interesting to hear how the Community Fund is going to address this seeming lack of provision for Weymouth and Portland. On the face of it one might think there was some bias.
I am sure this is not the case and that someone from the Community Foundation or County Council will be more than pleased to tell us how Weymouth and Portland might have a more equal slice of the cake.
