I REFER to the recent letter about economists. The last thing we want want is more economists. And besides, if Mike Joslin loves them so much, as his letter implies, how come the world economy is always in such a mess? No, just like bankers, psychiatrists and economists, we desperately need less of them, not more of them.

And as for ‘John Keynes’, and his take on how the world economy should be run, well with respect, perhaps Mr Joslin should apply himself with more homework before he blows the trumpet for Keynes’ version of worldly economic salvation.

And wasn’t he one of Margaret Thatcher's heroes? Say no more.
