THEY must be mad.
Or maybe their memories are at fault.
Does no one remember the caravan site at West Bay being flooded?
Or that the Vearse Farm site has caused flooding of the stream at the bottom of Magdalen Lane?
They have already built the medical centre on the top edge of the flood plain, are in the middle of building very nice houses there and are now talking of relocating a school there.
The surface water from these constructions must drain into the stream at the bottom of Magdalen Lane and eventually past the brewery and between The George Hotel West Bay and the post office.
Given heavy rain, high tides and wind in the wrong direction, the river water cannot get out.
Another building (a school) could more than tip the scales towards another flood.
