I would like to say a huge thank you to WAND who arranged yet another successful Reclaim the Night event with drumming, marching, an auction, fun and food.

This event grows each year and for the first time was a not a ‘women only’ event. There was the whole range of ages from grandparents to children so it was a family event, this made it very appropriate as domestic abuse affects all ages and genders and the impact on children in the families is huge.

It felt so appropriate that WAND wanted to raise money for the families in the refuge so they could go for a Christmas outing.

Ford Farm donated tickets for a Christmas Wonderland event at Wookey Hole. A great chance to see Father Christmas and have a magical day.

The donations given of prizes for the auction and other cash donations raised an amazing amount of £470 so there will be lots of fun at Christmas and an opportunity for the children to buy their mums presents.

Why don’t you earmark this date for next year the event is usually at the end of November watch out for the posters to be sure of a good night out which helps a group of people who need our help.

Thank you again to all involved and to prize givers.
