I was not sure to laugh or cry at the article from the counting offices of our council to close the weather station and for such a small amount of savings when you realise they can afford amounts far in excess of this for the consultants they employ.

Maybe it could consider making one councillor redundant and then it will have have money in hand.

I was once the weatherman for Poole Council, a council that knew how important the function was to advertise and inform the visitors.

Already we no longer have a TIC again to promote this town for the many that visit, which in my thoughts was a disaster.

Again for a small saving when you think how much has been wasted over the past 20 years.

There is salvation in Dorchester which has a TIC and one of the best in Dorset where service comes first and it is worth a visit to see how a well managed organisation is run and at minimum cost.

Maybe the Good Lord will allow me time to watch the Pavilion Peninsular sink into the golden sands of this resort as money that was available was wasted.
