Being somewhat lazy, I have not bothered to find out which organisations make up the Dorset Waste Partnership (DWP). One thing is certain: it does not include any of us, the public who pay for and use its services.
Last week I forgot to put out our landfill and food waste bins so, although they stand where they have always stood, within easy reach (and sight) of the street and where they were taken from under the old regime, they were ignored.
For us it is not a problem since we generate small amounts of rubbish but imagine a household with children and a harassed single parent; very soon those bins would be overflowing and he or she would be prosecuted for not putting them out.
The bureaucrats have once again saddled us with a lousy system that we have no choice about using and no say in its operation.
Maybe they will eventually maximise their profits by reducing the waste lorry crew to a single driver and rely on the public to connect our bins to the truck!
Bring back the binmen; this lot will not be getting a Christmas box from me.
