The question has to be asked of First Direct why from 5pm onwards the No 1 bus service to Portland does not include the bus station stop as part of its route, thus leaving customers waiting to board the service at the bus station totally exasperated and bewildered.
Customers are left to assume some of the No 10s from Dorchester to the Kings Statue Weymouth become an overcrowded No 1 to Portland. It is only courteous to inform customers of the change in the route.
To leave a train at Weymouth rail station assuming a No 1 can be boarded at the bus station and then have a prolonged wait in the dark and often wind and rain is not acceptable nor is a long walk to the King’s Statue if a prospective customer has walking problems, young children, luggage and so on.
If a customer notice can be placed on bus shelters as regards the Boxing Day service, why can’t a notice also be put on the bus shelters on the No 1 route telling customers of the change in service on weekdays regard-ing stopping at the bus station?
