How much longer are we to suffer the drawn out bickering about Navitus? I have never heard so many self-interested NIMBYs pretending to be defending the interests of the community.
We (the human race) have developed a reliance on gen-erated power.
Navitus could have been built anywhere; its siting isn’t for commercial reasons, it has been selected for the best engineering reasons. We should support it.
If we and the world are to continue, we need renewable power. If people block these dev-elopments for pathetic reasons such as ‘spoils the view’ or ‘people won’t come to our town if they can see the generators’, there is a simple solution.
Maybe the areas that refuse to allow wind farms should be the first to be cut when there is high demand? There is another option – build a nuclear power station on the Dorset coast (by Bourne-mouth, of course) or should power only be generated in nasty Northern areas?
