I HAVE long admired the beautiful, evocative paintings of Gordon Beningfield, so I hope that the C.T.R.’s plan to launch a wildlife farm in his memory is successful. The venture would benefit not only wild and farm animals, but the people of Dorset, who could buy local food produced as naturally as possible. Such a farm surely would deserve the description of agriculture, rather than industry, as it so often has become.

It would be gratifying now that Kingston Maurward College has withdrawn its plans to build houses at Higher Bockhampton it contributed to something more fitting to Hardy Country. It sounds like a venture well worth the support of local people who appreciate our lovely county and our heritage.
