It seems that the truth hurts, then?

And it is also evident that Giovanna Lewis and the Barry Thompson, chairman of the Dorchester Labour Party, cannot see the woods for the trees. Or, in other words, are in denial (Have Your Say, January 14). Yes, a minimum wage is vitally essential.

And in my view, should be at least £10 an hour.

And yes, most of those bankers who caused the financial mess that many of us are now still swimming in should be in prison peeling spuds or sewing up mail-bags for 20 years, not lapping up million pound bonuses and still enjoying the ride on an overloaded gravy train. And perhaps Barry Thompson has conveniently forgotten that the Labour Party was the main architect of the present fiscal mess we are in.

And just maybe Mr Thompson has also forgotten that it was Gordon Brown who master-minded the taxpayer bail out of the Royal Bank of Scotland, solely to rescue Scotland from its monetary mire, and save Scottish politicians from embarrassment.

Well, Brown had to be seen upholding the Scottish Claim of Rights. The Labour Party of Blair and Brown, and the Tories, have always been far too close to the bankers and still are, although the Labour Party will deny that fact. Ever since the banking bail out, the offending banks should have been left to go bankrupt because those that were running them probably couldn’t be trusted to sell postage stamps, bankers everywhere still can’t believe their luck that they’ve got away scot-free with the biggest banking heist in UK history.
