On Wednesday I picked up my twin sister from Gatwick airport after her flight rom Canada having been away for over 4 years

As we travelled home back to Weymouth using the minor roads she was amazed at the swathes of golden daffodils at every town, village and hamlet and even in clumps in the hedge rows.

We entered Weymouth and she exclaimed " where are your daffodils" and sure enough, not one was to be seen - from Morrisons roundabout and through the town centre.

Next remark "and where are your beautiful roundabouts?" - traffic improvements!!.

I was dreading her next comment as later we strolled along the Esplanade - "and what has happened to your fairy lights" - what could I say!!.

There are many things that we cannot alter in our once lovely town but I woulds love to see a huge effort from Council, businesses, charities and residents to see 100,000 daffodils planted in all our public places.

Once planted they would be visible each year for all to marvel at.

This would be a wonderful welcome to Spring for both our residents and our visitors.

Could this also be added to Weymouth's "Master Plan"?
