I cannot imagine why "Richard Denton White" (23rd April) is so enamoured with Nicola Sturgeon? Has he taken leave of his senses, or what? She, and her power mad cohort Alex Salmond, want an independent Scotland. Neither of them gives a fig about England. And let's not forget that an English parliament has handed over zillions of pounds of tax payers cash over many decades to keep them afloat.

And take no notice of what Sturgeon has promised. That a "Referendum on Scotland" will not happen if the SNP gets into bed with Ed Miliband and his gang of smart - suited shysters. Promises are two a penny.

Yes, a "Tory/UKIP" is a "scary idea". But a SNP/New Labour shotgun 'wedding' would be no better. For Nicola Sturgeon and Ed Miliband, this is will be like a 'marriage' made in heaven.

Mr Denton White opines, that "if he lived in Scotland she (Sturgeon) would get his vote". Well, perhaps he should begin packing his suitcase.

If I may, on a different subject, my local GP surgery is now suggesting that it's patients avail themselves of "10 minute GP appointments". And if so, "that they not beat about the bush, get to the point" and only discuss "one problem". What's next, 5 minute appointments? 2 minute consultations via the telephone? But only one problem of course. But how can any competent GP make a diagnosis on the basis of a patient describing one problem and not at the same time not being allowed to describe what may well be other underlying problems? More trips to A&E, then?
