YESTERDAY I went to visit a wonderful group based here in Dorchester. They make Linus Quilts for traumatised children, beautiful hand made quilts of all different sizes for all ages of children who are going tough a tough period in their lives.

The quilts are bright, colourful, soft cosy and most importantly made and chosen with care for the children knowing their age and gender.

Some are a story to be told in themselves others made with very intricate patterns in tonal colours but one thing is certain They are made with love and give happiness to all who get one.

Since this group has been based at Pauline’s Patchwork, four years ago, they have given 1,700 quilts to children who appreciate them, the children who have been in the refuge certainly have and I am sure they will for their whole life with these quilts being part of that life forever.

The quilts are all given free along with the time and materials used to make them. I am aware Waitrose are collecting green tokens as a fund raiser for Linus Quilts so if passing perhaps you would give them your green token.

Thank you to all who make and support Linus Quilts.
