LAST Friday, June 19, my 12-year-old granddaughter was 50p short of her bus fare to Dorchester - despite having a bus pass that she had left at home - from Weymouth town centre.
The driver advised her to find the required 50p to continue her journey and because she did not have the fare she was left in Weymouth town centre.
Not knowing what to do and having no means of contacting her parents she made her way to the seating near Debenhams and was clearly upset. Fortunately, a lady with a dog was sat next to her and noticing her distress invited my granddaughter to use her mobile phone to contact her dad. Furthermore, this kind lady sat with my granddaughter until her father arrived from Charminster and would not accept any recompense for the cost of the call.
Our thanks go to this lady and we hope she reads this page to know that her kind actions have been very much appreciated.
