WHAT I find most interesting in the whole debate on Navitus is the matter of wind power itself.
Interesting isn’t it that huge clippers and sail ships sailed the oceans for some 300 years powered by nothing more than wind power.
And there was folks, no mass pollution.
And classic windmills, turning mills, to grind seeds. Many thousands are still in service to this day, in East Anglia, Holland, and in many other countries.
So it seems to me we have come full circle. Modern technology, highly efficient turbines, give us the opportunity now to harness wind power on a vastly larger scale.
So I don’t see what all the ‘anti’ clamour is about. The energy is clean, it’s free at source, doesn’t pollute, and I think the sails in action look very impressive.
Sea and wind will combine to give us energy, far enough out at sea to be no trouble, and being offshore gathering wind energy from across the sea.
I can’t see what’s not to like. (Detractors needn’t reply. After three years, we get the message.)
