WITH family in Bournemouth we are visiting from Herne Bay for a couple of weeks.

It is interesting to note how much north Kent coast has in common with Bournemouth. On Saturday we had our airshow with 70,000 visitors in town. And your air festival is coming up this weekend.

We also have wind farms and it comes to our attention in the Echo how controversial they are in this area.

So we would like to say on our experience the farms are pretty much no problem at all. We have 45 turbines in the Kentish Flats just five miles off of Herne Bay and Margate, and another 100 nine miles away, and 300 about 14 miles out from north Kent.

The closest ones at Kentish Flats we never hear them except a bit when there was piling but that was soon over. And it's interesting out at sea how they seem to take on personalities. That might sound odd – but some days they look lonely, other days happy!

So really we would say to all in this area there is nothing to worry about. If anything, the masts become a point of interest and amusement. As far as we see no affect on visitors, if anything interested and approving.
