THERE are so many shoppers crowding the streets of Dorchester in the run-up to Christmas that it is nearly impossible to avoid bumping into people or them bashing into you as we all go about our business.
I am proposing to the government that it introduces a Parliamentary Bill to recommend that in the festive season shoppers employ hand signals especially in pedestrian-designated areas. We could even have a special Shoppers’ Highway Code laying out the rules. I am sure that such a move would be welcomed by those who arrive home, having collected a few bruises from fellow shoppers.
