WHY is it that when it comes to sorting out major projects in and around the town, the council never gets it right.
As well as managing to lose £2million pounds when selling the council offices to Acorn South, they have now also it seems, by some spurious wording in the contract, are now not going to get what everyone including the councillors envisaged.
This is now going to cause more problems, not only for the council but also for Acorn South.
If I was the new owner I would try and sell it on to McCarthy and Stone for the same money they offered to the council and make a quick profit without the hassle.
Councillors should pay more attention to the wording of any future contracts they draw up and not rely solely on officers’ advice.
