‘STRONG and Stable’ is an empty slogan loaded with a binful of bad news for us all. It requires an urgent trip to recycling.

This is what a vote for Theresa May’s Tory party will mean: A hard Brexit that will not be good for Britain with negotiations led by a self acknowledged ‘bloody difficult woman’ who’s likely to wind up and upset our previous European partners: bearing in mind that only one in five Leave voters want this ‘hard’ Brexit.

A weakening of UK security through losing access to the European data base, shortly after the Manchester bombing.

Continuing cuts to local school budgets, including possible teacher redundancies at local schools before 2020. Unacceptable levels of student debt with the Tories’ persistent obsession with the tuition fees system.

An attack on pensioners through abolition of the triple lock on pensions, the ‘dementia’ care tax and a means tested fuel allowance. Cap or no cap this is a destructive policy.

Then the nonsense of the under 100,000 annual immigration ‘target’ in this now third successive Conservative party manifesto (Mrs May has failed so far in seven years) and a target that ignores the economy’s needs in agriculture and staffing for the under siege NHS.

It’s just a sop to the ignorance of militant Leavers in UKIP and her own party..

I cannot think of one good reason for voting for Theresa May on Thursday. Before electors commit to a cross by the Tories I’d urge them to think carefully of the consequences not just for them individually, but for Britain as a collective society. Be careful what you wish for !
