Further to the two letters we have had in these columns about these lights can I ask when is something going to be done about them?

Just try driving out from the West Station through these lights. Standing by the traffic light is a large yellow sign on a temporary tripod which says 'No left turn to Damers Road - pedestrians crossing CCTV in operation'.

Why this sign is lodged here I am not quite sure as it is pretty difficult to turn into Damers Road now as the new kerb design would make you do an almost 360 degree turn. Pretty obvious I would say.

However in the space of 5 minutes I saw 3 cars come out from the station and proceed sort of half left down Cornwall Road in spite of the no left turn signs up on the traffic lights themselves. They obviously thought that they had obeyed the no left turn indications into Damers Road so it was ok to turn into Cornwall Road.

Actually standing there looking at this situation I realised that it is safe to turn into Cornwall Road from the station as at that moment in the lights sequence the pedestrian light across Cornwall Road is at red. So no danger to pedastrians so why no left turn from the station into Cornwall Road?

This really does need sorting out quickly.
