I READ with resigned resignation the council’s response to the perceived dangers at the junction of King Street and the Esplanade. Yet again, a ridiculous reaction from an out-of-touch County Hall on a problem that will, undoubtedly end in tragedy. I am loath to compare these warnings to others in the news at the moment as that would be crass but it does highlight the complete arrogance of the people supposedly charged with our safety who constantly fail to listen despite the overwhelming evidence they are presented with.

Let’s sort out parking The NHS are the proud owners of the Old Damers school site and all its space.
The NHS has insufficient space for their staff parking, so why has the Damers field, the playgrounds and the car park not been made available to their staff, which in turn would free up the streets around the hospital.
Come on NHS bosses, your workers are much needed at the hospital so why do you bury your head in the sand and refuse to do something really sensible for a change?
You have ample space on that site make use of it and use it sensibly.
