On Wednesday evening, Channel 5 aired an investigative documentary titled Why Do Men Earn More Than Women?

They don’t. They may be PAID more - but they certainly don’t EARN more.

There is all too often a great deal of difference between what people are paid and what they earn, whatever their gender.

Does anyone think it appropriate, for example, that someone who runs around a field kicking an inflated ball for hundreds of thousands of pounds a week actually EARNS more than a nurse or teacher, male or female?

Pay and earn are not synonyms.
