THE immediate past president of the Weymouth Catenians Catholic men’s group, Vern Palmer, presented a cheque for £650 to the Acorns.
He made the presentation to Debbie and Mel, representing the Acorns, at a dinner after the May meeting of the group at the Hotel Prince Regent in Weymouth.
The Acorns is a Weymouth charity which is divided into two sections. One serves as a day centre for elderly people and the other is for people with disabilities. Weymouth Catenians spokesman Michael Hart said: “The unit has various functions and strives to give disabled people a normal outlook on life. “A cheque for a similar amount was also presented to Weldmar.”
