THIS simple fruit salad means you can enjoy pudding without having to worry about your waistline.
Ingredients:
25g (1oz) caster sugar
15g (1/2oz) root ginger
grated rind of 1/2 lemon
1 apple
1 pear
100g (3.5oz) red grapes
Method
Place the sugar in a saucepan with 150ml (14pt) water.
Peel the ginger and slice. Add with the grated lemon rind. Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer gently for 10-15 minutes. Cool.
Cut the pear and apple into cubes, halve the grapes and mix into the syrup.
