PORTLAND teenager Adam Greaves has passed his dinghy instructor qualification.

The 16-year-old undertook the week-long Royal Yachting Association course during half-term week, which included three presentations both on the water and ashore.

Proud mum Mandy Greaves said her son, who got into the sport through the Sail for £5 scheme, was the youngest on the course.

She said: “He is looking forward to next season when he can, hopefully, work at SailLaser in an instructor capacity.

“He has worked so hard and long towards this and we are very proud of him.

“Who would have thought that school trip would lead all the way to this.”
