PAUL Harding has a selection headache on his hands ahead of tomorrow’s Dorset & Wilts Intermediate Cup semi-final against Corsham at Monmouth Avenue (2pm).

The Weymouth head coach saw his side record a fine 26-17 league victory over Wootton Bassett last time out but with Sam Morris, Harry Charles, Tom Smethurst, Craig Barter, Gareth Iles and Mike Robinson all expected to return this weekend he now has some big decisions to make.

Harding told Echosport: “It is going to be a tough game tomorrow. The fact that it is at home is a bit of an advantage but Corsham are a strong side so we will have to be at our best.

“The other positive thing is that I should have close to a full squad to choose from. Last weekend’s win has set us up nicely and hopefully we can build on that second-half performance and put in another good display.

“Although we had a few missing for that game, I had no doubts we were capable of winning it and the team we had out did a fantastic job.

“It is all about striking the right balance and the problem I have this week is that all six of the lads that are due to return are all top players and could easily slot straight back in.

“It’s a tricky one but at the same time it is a nice problem to have.”

The winners of tomorrow’s clash will face either Wimborne or Devizes in the final.

Bridport are also in semi-final action tomorrow at Melksham in the Dorset & Wilts Senior Vase (2pm).

The Blues bounced back to form last Saturday with a 19-11 win over Wimborne Seconds and with skipper Ricky Stubbs and Liam Poole back available hopes are high.

Stubbs said: “Melksham is a long, old journey. We have played them before though and our games have always been tight.

“We should have two or three back so hopefully we can go there and get a result – if we could reach the final that would be excellent.”

Marlborough and Westbury will contest the other last-four tie.

Bridport coach Simon Bareham added: “It will be an interesting game. It is a shame it is a semi-final because even with a few returning this week we are still struggling a bit for numbers. However, I have no doubts we will rise to the challenge.”

Dorchester, Puddletown and Swan-age & Wareham are all without games this weekend but the latter’s second team and third team will be in action.

The seconds travel to Salisbury in the Dorset & Wilts Second XV Cup (2pm) while the thirds host Chippenham in the Dorset & Wilts Third XV Cup (2.15pm).
