WEYMOUTH Sports will need to up their game when they travel to Westland Sports tomorrow in the Dorset Senior League (2pm).

The Seasiders currently sit eighth in the table but are just three points off the bottom two having played more games than anyone else.

Joint-boss Chris Hicks, whose side have not won in their last four outings in all competitions, said: “We just need to get a bit of confidence back and the only way we are going to do that is through scoring a couple of goals and going from there.

“We have got Westland Sports tomorrow, which will not be an easy game, and then a local derby against Upwey & Broadwey, so we need to start getting it together.”

Reigning champions Portland United Reserves also have concerns ahead of their trip to Blandford United Reserves (2pm).

The Blues are eight points off the top at present and cannot afford to lose any more ground but with a mounting injury list their squad is starting to get stretched.

Boss Lee Clarke said: “We have a lot of injury problems at the moment.

“Five or six of the lads are going to be out until Christmas which means we are only going to have 12 or 13 every week.

“It is not ideal, particularly with some tough games coming up, but all we can do, is get on with it.”

Unbeaten Mere Town are the team setting the pace at the summit and they travel to Redlands to face Upwey & Broadwey (2pm).

Upwey currently lie fourth-bottom but hold games in hand, and they will be hoping a good performance this weekend can finally kick-start their season.
