Walker in Bluebirds reunion

REUNITED: Scott Walker REUNITED: Scott Walker

TERRAS’ captain Scott Walker has the added incentive of trying to get one over a former club when Chippenham Town visit the Bob Lucas Stadium today (3pm).

Walker, who has scored in the Terras’ last two league games, enjoyed a spell at Chippenham early on in his career and knows his side will face a tough afternoon against today’s visitors.

The teams drew 2-2 back in August with Walker getting Wey-mouth’s second goal from the penalty spot – the Terras had been two down inside 15 minutes.

While looking forward to meeting up with a couple of old friends Walker is eager for the hosts to get back to winning ways in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division after Tuesday’s loss at Bideford.

“I spent some good years at Chippenham when I was a lot youn-ger,” he told Echosport. “It’s a really good club and it’ll be nice to see a few familiar faces.

“But you always want to try and get one over your previous clubs.

“We all know it’s going to be physical and direct and Chippenham are always very organised and well set-up defensively.

“We were all very disappointed with the performance at Bideford but it’s something we need to put to bed and work on getting another three points and build another run.

“There’s always going to be a time when a run comes to an end but the lads are confident of producing a good enough performance against Chippenham to get the result.”
