48-hour wait for Terras over Walker
THE Terras will have to wait another 48 hours before finding out the full extent of Scott Walker’s knee injury.
The Weymouth skipper was forced off in the second half of last Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Chippenham Town and boss Brendon King is keeping his fingers crossed the damage is not as bad as first feared.
He told Echosport: “We are still not 100 per cent sure yet.
“Our physio Emma took a look at it after the game and it looks like it could be a bit of medial-ligament damage. That was the first assessment anyway, but until the swelling goes down it is difficult to say.
“If it is, then the worst case scenario will be four to six weeks out.
“Scott is obviously distraught about it but hopefully it will not be too bad.
“We are not going to know either way for another 48 hours.”
When asked how big a blow losing Walker would be, King added: “He is our captain and he has been playing well so it would be a big blow, but that is what we have got a squad for and it would give someone else the opportunity to come in and show what they can do.”
The Terras are next in action on Saturday when they travel to AFC Totton in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division (3pm).
