RENDEZVOUS stretched their lead at the top of the Weymouth Sunday League Premiership with a 2-1 win over basement boys Alexandra.

The Chickerell outfit took a surprise lead through Dean Taylor but they were unable to hold on as goals from Karl Dean and Carl McClements eventually turned the tables.

With Rodwell dropping points in a 3-3 draw at Market House, the Vous now sit three points clear in the top-flight with a game in hand.

Britannia and Weyline have also lost further ground after sharing 14 goals in a high-scoring stalemate at Redlands.

Reigning champions Weyline led 6-2 at one stage but in the end it took an injury-time equaliser from Danny Andrews just to rescue them a point.

That crucial strike was Andrews’ second in the clash with team-mates Dan McDonald, Lee Pattison and Chris Wyatt also getting their names on the scoresheet.

Down in the Championship, Yates enjoyed a fantastic 4-2 win at Broadmayne to move up to seventh in the table.

The St Thomas Street outfit, who have recently been taken over by Portesham United, fell behind in the encounter but soon fought back to take a 3-1 lead.

Saul Johnson levelled things up early in the second half before a header from Matt Roberts and a trademark run and finish from Mikey Hoskins put Yates in full command.

Broadmayne then pulled one back but any hopes of a comeback were soon dashed when Johnson sealed his brace to complete the scoring.

Dolphin now the head the table by three points following a 5-2 win at Sailors Return.

The league leaders have won nine out of their 10 league games so far this season but second-placed Portland Town remain in hot pursuit with a game in hand.

Elsewhere, Dolce Vita hammered Moby Dick’s 6-2 while Weymouth Athletic picked up only their second victory of the season with a 2-1 triumph over The Lounge.

Just to clarify, Dolphin were already leading the table. Portland Town's hot pursuit of a game in hand will only be any good if they win it 17-0.

And, just for the record Yates will lose this sunday and we will all be cheering on Dolce Vita.
