Magpies 1-0 Dover Athletic

A FIRST half Ashley Nicholls goal gave Dorchester Town a vital three points in their bid to move away from the bottom of Blue Square Bet South.

It was a first win in nine in all competitions for the Magpies whose last victory had come on November 17.

Their cause was aided by a red card for Dover's Danny Webb as he picked up a yellow card in each half for dissent and foul play.

Dorchester move up to 16th place in the table thanks to Nicholls' 17th-minute strike from a Charlie Clough cut back and next head to Weston-Super-Mare on Saturday.

Pick up Wednesday's Echo for a full match report and reaction from relieved manager Phil Simkin.
