JOHN Burt picked up the shore match champion award at Weyrad Angling Club’s annual prize and presentation night at the Victoria Inn, Knights-in-the-Bottom.
Burt (922.6 per cent) was the clear winner in the end with Terry Dell (861.2 per cent) and Kevin Turner (797.4 per cent) finishing second and third respectively.
Turner also picked up the best specimen award.
Weyrad Angling Club is a small, friendly club which holds monthly specimen-based matches on Friday evenings throughout the year at various Chesil Beach venues.
Small gift voucher prizes for the first and second place are awarded after each match as well as annual awards for first, second and third and best specimen.
The club prides itself on being self-funding and has a policy of paying out all monies received through membership and monthly match fees in prizes to the members.
