WEYMOUTH fans are being offered the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the club’s all-time heroes at a special event at the Riviera Hotel on April 19.

The sportsman’s dinner, which is being billed as the ‘Return of the Legends’, will see ex-Tottenham and England defender Graham Roberts top the line-up alongside other former Terras including Tony Hobson, Shaun Teale, Matt Bound, David Laws and Ian Hutchinson.

Each legend will host a table during the evening which will also include a three-course meal and further entertainment from Devon-based comedian Tank Sherman.

The club’s commercial department has organised the event in conjunction with the Weymouth FC Supporters Association with tickets priced at £45 for individual places or £40 per person for a group booking of six or more.

The full list of Terras’ legends that have confirmed their attendance on the night is as follows: Graham Roberts, Shaun Teale, David Laws, Ian Hutchinson, John Waldock, Alex Browne, Matt Bound, Andy Harris, Stuart Morgan, Lee Phillips, Peter Conning, Tony Pounder, Mark Robinson, Matthew McGowan, Stuart McGowan, Tony Hobson, Brian Lawrence, David Linney, Gary Borthwick, Gerry Pearson and Micky Greeno.
The club is also waiting for confirmation from several others including ex-Leicester City striker and BBC pundit Steve Claridge and Olympic gold medallist Darren Campbell MBE.

Bravo for the club for attemping such a great event however i think some of the legends are possibly a touch over rated. My idol is Micky Greeno but im not sure id pay £45 for a night in his company.... He gives me stick for free everytime i see him, however if he promises to do the legendary hammerhead shark routine with a bar of soap i would encourage inviting some talent show judges and put the prices up!
Average line up bar a few names but well done Weymouth for trying different things to generate income.
