THE Terras will need to be at their best tomorrow to stand any chance of ending Gosport Borough’s 14-game unbeaten league run, according to Brendon King.

The Hampshire outfit have not tasted defeat in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division since Novem-ber 3 and the Weymouth boss is under no illusions about what awaits at Privett Park (3pm).

King told Echosport: “They have overtaken us in the league, they are unbeaten in 14 and they are absol-utely buzzing, so we know it is going to be difficult.

“When you are on a run like they are, you just cannot wait for the next game.

“That is exactly how we felt during our winning run in December so we know full well that it will be up to us tomorrow to go up there and try and spoil the party.”

One big positive for Weymouth is the fact that Gosport will be without their star striker Justin Bennett – the league’s joint-leading scorer with 17 goals.

King added: “He has clearly been their danger man this season and the fact he has gone off on his honeymoon is a bonus because he has been scoring goals for fun. However, they still beat Chesham 3-1 last weekend without him so it’s important we do not read too much into that.

“We drew with them 3-3 at our place earlier in the season and I am expecting another good game this time around.

“If we can go there and come away with a positive result I will be delighted.”

Weymouth, who sit a point behind Boro in eighth spot, have not seen competitive action since their 4-0 home defeat against Leamington on January 15. However, they did get a run out on Wednesday night when they defeated Exmouth 1-0 in a friendly thanks to a strike from Matt Groves.

King said: “The Exmouth game was a good workout and just what we needed to get rid of some of the rustiness."

Scott Walker and Mark Ford will both miss the trip to Gosport.

Walker is back in light training following a knee injury while Ford has been ruled out for a couple of weeks due to a broken hand.
