MASSIVE BLOW: Ashley Nicholls
DORCHESTER Town midfielder Ashley Nicholls has been ruled out of this afternoon’s clash with table-toppers Salisbury City in Blue Square Bet South.
Magpies’ boss Phil Simkin described the news as a “massive blow” which could get even worse if Mark Jermyn and Nick Crittenden also fail to pass late fitness tests.
Commenting on the task ahead, Simkin said: “I rate Salisbury very highly indeed. They are full-time, extremely fit and very good at what they do.
“In fact, looking back at all our matches this season, I rated them higher than I did Luton Town to be honest.
“It is going to be a very tough game but the one thing I know I will always get from my lads is 100 per cent effort and if we play to our potential then we will stand every chance.”
Salisbury, who beat the Magpies 4-0 earlier in the season, have lost just one of their last 10 fixtures and currently sit three points clear at the summit, having played two games more than second-placed Welling.
